Fun things to do in and around London, Ontario this October
Halloween is just around the corner, and London is getting ready for a season filled with pumpkins, costumes, candy, fall treats and plenty of spooky fun! Whether you have little ones counting down the days until trick-or-treating, you're looking for a fun date night, or you simply love everything Halloween, there are plenty of ways to celebrate right here in our community.
We’ve put together a Spooktacular Halloween Bucket List with some of our favourite ways to make the most of the season.
🎃 Pick the Perfect Pumpkin
No Halloween season is complete without a trip to the pumpkin patch!Kustermans Adventure Farm in Mount Brydges is a great option for a full fall day. Their Fall Festival includes a pumpkin patch, corn maze, farm activities, inflatables and other family-friendly attractions. On October 18–19 and October 25–26, they’ll also have Halloween dress-up and candy stations for kids. For something a little closer to London, Phillips' Farm on Sarnia Road is another local stop for pumpkins, gourds and seasonal fall décor.👻 Wander Through Thousands of Pumpkins
One of London's most exciting Halloween traditions is Pumpkins After Dark at Storybook Gardens.Running October 2–31, 2026, the evening experience features thousands of hand-carved pumpkins transformed into illuminated displays. There are also live pumpkin-carving demonstrations, seasonal treats, photo opportunities and themed nights throughout the month.🍬 Celebrate Halloween in Wortley Village
Looking for a fun, community-focused Halloween event?Halloween in the Village returns to Wortley Village on Saturday, October 24, 2026. The free, family-friendly carnival runs from 1–7 p.m. at the Wortley YMCA grounds and features live music, vendors, games and plenty of Halloween fun. It's a great way to support local businesses, enjoy the neighbourhood and get into the Halloween spirit.🕷️ Get Spooked at Fanshawe Pioneer Village
For those who prefer their Halloween a little scarier, head to Fanshawe Pioneer Village for Return to the Abandoned Village.Taking place on select dates from October 16–31, the 14+ experience transforms five buildings throughout the Village into a haunted walking experience. Tickets are expected to sell quickly, so this is one to plan ahead for!📚 Dress Up for a Halloween Storytime
Halloween fun doesn't have to mean haunted houses and jump scares.The London Public Library is hosting family-friendly Halloween programming throughout October. For example, the Children's Library at Central Library is hosting a Halloween Costume Party on October 30, featuring costumes, crafts, activities and non-food trick-or-treating. There is also a Halloween Storytime at the Bostwick Branch on October 31, complete with Halloween stories, songs and rhymes. Costumes are encouraged!🍁 Make a Fall Day of It
Why limit yourself to Halloween?Combine your Halloween adventures with some of the best parts of fall in Southwestern Ontario. Visit a local farm, grab a warm drink, take a walk through the changing leaves, explore a local market and finish the day with dinner somewhere you've never tried.Apple Land Station in Thorndale is a great option for a fall day trip, with apples, pumpkins and family-friendly farm activities.🍭 And, Of Course... Go Trick-or-Treating!
There's nothing quite like Halloween night in your own neighbourhood.Put on the costumes, grab the candy bags and head out to see the creativity happening throughout London's neighbourhoods.And if you're staying home to hand out candy, don't forget to stock up early. Halloween candy has a mysterious way of disappearing before October 31.Halloween is more than costumes and candy. It's an excuse to get outside, explore our community, support local businesses and make memories with the people we love. Whether your perfect Halloween involves pumpkins and hayrides, spooky trails, neighbourhood trick-or-treating or a cozy night at home, we hope you find a few new traditions to add to your October.
